Creating Art = Living with Art My home, studio and sculpture garden have become living gallery spaces to enjoy and present my work to others.
One of the greatest joys I experience as an artist is having a Solo Exhibition. Beyond seeing my artwork beautifully presented, it is an opportunity for viewers to immerse themselves in my art, walk around the sculptures, personally experience the shapes, colors, textures, movement, and discover their meaning. Here are three of my most memorable solo exhibitions … Enjoy!

Exhibition Review by Sergio Gomez; a Chicago-based visual artist and creative entrepreneur. He is owner and director of 33 Contemporary Gallery.
With a distinctively geometric style, artist Mary-Ann Prack makes a strong appearance with a recent body of work at the Maria V. Howard Arts Center. The exhibition titled The Shape of Color features a collection of abstract paintings and sculptures. As the title of the exhibition suggests, color is perhaps the driving force behind this body of work. However, color does not only finds its forms but also its substance. In the work of Mary-Ann Prack, color informs, transforms, suggests and in the process, initiates a conversation with the viewer. The primary color palette, which is a constant from piece to piece, provides a sense of communal activity where each part belongs to the whole while embodying its own peculiar qualities. It is in the nuances of difference that the viewer finds a trail of satisfaction in the process of discovery. The beautifully constructed non-figurative abstract paintings in the show provide a well balanced coexistence with the figurative sculptures. To the viewer’s delight, the artist does not force the figure into the paintings or the painterly surfaces into the sculptures. They are totally different in approach from each other yet similar in their existence and spirit. They belong in their communal narrative awaiting for the viewer’s interaction to decipher their intricacies. Both paintings and sculptures invite us to connect the threads of unity and perhaps in a strange way, connect our own world and experiences with theirs. Sept-Dec 2018

My Studio is at once energizing and peaceful, a place where I can be myself and connect with the essence of who I am through my art.
I’m working on mounting the head of YOKIMA - final stages of the sculpture.
SHE’S ON FIRE - glazed and ready to be glaze fired in the kiln
The sculpture in the background is almost ready (dry enough) to be bisque fired in my kiln. The sculpture in the
foreground required about 3 more weeks of drying time before bisque firing.
In this photo I am glazing what will become “Bubbles and Squeak” a process that usually takes about 3 or 4 days
to complete. After glaze firing the colors are completely different as you can tell.
My sculpture and painting studio is located in the idyllic Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. It is an area with a wonderfully creative community of artists and craftspeople. My husband, son and I moved here from Florida hoping to find an environment with an energy and spirit similar to that of Canada where I grew up. And more importantly a place our son Boston a nature lover would thrive.
My S C U L P T U R E explores the architecture of the human figure, and reflects the joy of the human spirit.
P A I N T I N G fuels my creative spirit with spontaneous and infinite possibilities.
